The Vieux Elm

One of the largest American Elms in the world, this tree took root when wagons still traveled along the Oregon Trail. She watched America grow up.

She's virtually gone now.
Vandalized.
Now no more than a stump.

Just one more reason to join the Oregon-California Trails Association and support the fight to preserve Oregon Trail sites for future generations.

This shot is one of the last taken of the tree before it was virtually destroyed.
